The guys over at Fileplanet.com have just announced that they have a ‘Top Secret’ Xbox360 beta event, ooo.
FilePlanet.com are known for their amazing BETA access, with their most recent upcoming being ‘Top Secret’ which is rather interesting! The guys over at Microsoft haven’t said anything about what it could be and have definitely not announced any prior to anything being ‘Top Secret’
"FilePlanet subscribers get exclusive access to the HOTTEST betas"! We’ve been saying this for years. This time is no different. FilePlanet subscribers have the unique opportunity to beta test a game that is SUPER SECRET. We can’t even tell you who the publisher is BUT we can say, you’re going to LOVE it. This is so exciting we can hardly contain ourselves! There are a few requirements for beta participation:
• FilePlanet or Founders’ Club Subscriber • Own an Xbox 360 • Active Xbox Live GOLD account • Reside on planet Earth
Sadly at the time of this post, It’s a Friday which basically means that the office is closed. Although as soon as Monday comes by we’ll get in touch with the guys over at Microsoft HQ to comment on this madness!

Well we all did it, turned on our boxes to be interrupted by an update prompt. The new dashboard update has arrived, took a while, felt like someone in the 360 Customer Pleasing Department had forgotten about us!
The new NXE service pack is to offer us Netflix movies…. Oh wait, I live in the UK, no Netflix, ok moving on.
Many cool features of this update have been called for since the consoles release, the speed upgrade on the dash for example was a must have fix, finally it’s quicker than a grannies Zimmer frame covered in nitrous oxide.
Today’s update, well what you can call an ‘update’, is clearly tragic for the UK.
Seeing as we don’t have an equivalent for ‘Netflix’ it doesn’t really make any difference, just the factor of us being able to pay for invisible clothing that we will never own.
The dashboard is now much faster, which is nice, but it should of never been slow in the first place. Not really making any sense to create an update that we had to wait for, surely fixing an issue like that should be instant?
Just: Where’s what we were promised at E3? Would of been better to have that by now, especially Sky TV!
Do you remember when we all got the NXE and we all pretty much said thank god the god dam adverts are gone well they are back and there are back with vengeance in mind.
Apparently, Microsoft "plans to bring IAB specifications for rich media technologies, including Silverlight, to Xbox Live within the year". With Silverlight being Microsoft’s version of/competitor to Flash, MediaPost say "Silverlight-powered media on Xbox will have the same appearance as ads seen on a Web browser".
So now the NXE will be slower and will be full of stupid adverts witch will have no relevance to anything on the system.
Major nelson has confirmed that the Xbox dashboard is going to receive a much needed speed boost. As most of you will now the dash is rather well SLOW and it takes forever to find any pice of content on the marketplace so here’s what the Major had to during his podcast.
"The team has done some really good stuff around making performance enhancements. ‘Performance enhancements’ doesn’t sound right because it sounds like we’re going to give the guide a little blue pill, and we’re not doing that. Whatever we call it (and it’s not going to be called the NNXE), but whatever the next version of the dashboard is called, it’s better with a lot of very cool new features. That update will be out later this year"
So here forth the dash will be called the New Xbox Experience service pack 1
