The premiere of the Dante’s Inferno animated movie tried it’s best to add a bit of hellfire to the cold of London last night and TFMX was there to check it out.

Although the main purpose of the night was for EA and Starz Entertainment to unveil their new animated movie, our main reason for turning up was obviously to get a chance to see how the game itself is looking ahead of it’s release this Friday.

And the verdict was a good one! We saw the game running on the usual promo pods and had a quick play and it looks very polished indeed. Obviously I don’t want to say too much as the TFMX review is currently being worked on but the game was good to look at, with a lot going on on screen at once but it still seemed to be maintaining 60fps very well. Based on the short time that we played for, the game seems to have a God Of War feel to it but with the big combos of something like Devil May Cry. But all will be revealed in good time!

As for the movie, animated features are not typically my kind of thing but I found this to be a gripping and exciting film. However, I would make two recommendations;

1 – Do not see this film if you are at all squeamish as you may be horrified beyond belief by the things you see!

2 – Do not see this film if you don’t like spoilers! The film was great but we couldn’t help coming away feeling like maybe we had seen all the levels and biggest enemies/bosses of the game.

Overall though, it was very enjoyable and we were glad to have had a more in-depth look at the story behind the game, our advice though would be to enjoy the film after the game or as you play through, rather than beforehand or you may have your game spoilt!

As mentioned, TFMX will be battling through the Inferno this week to get the very best review done and posted as soon as possible…

If your currently attempting to access our marvellous YouTube (channel which is XG47) you may suffer a rather major problem.

Much like last October (if you can remember back then) we suffered problems with a few copyright infringements which came back to haunt us, same again!

We are working hard with our partners to return our video service to 100% – We’ll be back soon!

So 2009 was a great year for the gaming industry and it ended on a high with the release of Assassins Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, Left For Dead 2, Uncharted 2………you notice anything….yep it was definitely the year of the sequels, but personally I’m ok with that because quite frankly the majority were awesome, here at TFMX we found ourselves struggling to score anything below a seven out of ten. But 2009 is the past and all those games were so ‘last year’ quite literally, we want something fresh and new so we take a look at what is soon to come out in January.

This month will see the release of Bayonetta, Darksiders and wait for it……… Mass Effect 2

Everyone knows the beginning of the year is always going to be quiet for game releases, majority of the time games released in January were originally scheduled for Christmas but got pushed back. This year however we do have a couple of potentially mind blowing January releases, ‘Bayonetta’ and ‘Darksiders’ being two examples. TFMX has once again found the best prices so you guys can save those pennies.

The return of Zavvi hails bargains.

With every games retailer boasting their biggest sale ever how do we know where to spend our hard earned cash?, also if its their biggest sale ever…. doesn’t that mean surely by now we should be able to get pretty much anything we want for like a pound, sales have been going on for a quite a while?

Well TFMX can at least answer one of those questions, after spending many hours scouting the high streets and online shops one of the best sales we have come across is from the once forgotten chain Zavvi, who have been reborn and they’re online store is set to flourish. They’re low prices is obviously a very aggressive strategy to help re-establish themselves as a leading media retailer. What does this mean? Low prices on everything for everyone……..well at least for a short time. So Digbert’s tip of the week is to check out the re-launched Zavvi sale and grab yourself a bargain similar to these examples.
