Alex Zane ‘rocked the mic right’ last night at London’s Oxford Street hmv store, in front of 2,000 Final Fantasy fans! This making it the biggest game launch ever in hmv launch history!
Tim Ellis who is the head of the games department at HMV was thrilled:
“Last night’s Final Fantasy XIII signing at HMV’s flagship store on Oxford Street was the biggest game launch the store has ever seen. With thousands of fans queuing up round the block it even beats our stores previous best game launch event which was for World of Warcraft.
“They say games are the new rock and roll, and this incredible turnout certainly proves the point. We could organise album launches and DVD signings by major stars but I’m sure none would come close to attracting the size of crowd and enthusiastic response that we saw last night.
Well if they say games are the new rock and roll we truly rocked up! Our video coverage will be up sometime later today!
Firstly, for those who are off to buy Peppa Pig this morning for their loved ones your going to have wait an extra hour as GAME and Gamestations will be having a early morning meeting!
A statement has been given out by the company saying that they will be shaking up their staff’s working hours, hopefully not physically because I’m sure that’s pretty illegal. The good old statement follows!
“We continually review the sales patterns across our entire store portfolio to make sure that we have the right number of people in place to serve customers throughout the day,” said the company in a statement.
“Today we have held meetings with the teams in our stores to discuss ways that each store can better serve the customers in their local area, including a review of staff rotas and shift patterns. We are very focused on supporting our teams, and thank them for their continued hard work and understanding.”
We just hope that no-one looses their job unfairly or working hours somehow disappear down the toilet.
Heavy Rain’s Pre-order bonus included the game’s soundtrack – as we told you before. However Sony have had an issue with their PSN and therefore if you were to redeem your code for your amazing pre-order bonuses, your not going to get your soundtrack!
hmv, the only retailer who are selling the special ‘hmv bonus’ edition of the game, have sent emails around to those who have purchased the special edition of the game.
Sony have reported to us that there has unfortunately been a last-minute technical delay to the Heavy Rain official soundtrack, meaning that customers who have purchased the Heavy Rain Special Edition will not be able to download the Soundtrack until 4th March 2010. Sony recommend that you wait until this date to redeem your Special Edition voucher code which is in the game box – you’ll then receive all the Special Edition content in one batch.
However, if you choose to redeem your voucher code immediately for the other downloadable content, you won’t be able to receive the official soundtrack nor will you be able to use the same code to redeem the soundtrack on 4th March 2010.
So the pre-order bonus is a post-order bonus.
