American giant Gamestop are placing a bid for half of Woolworths stores in the UK. Gamestop are planning to buy 815 stores that would place Gamestop as the largest UK specialist chain – eclipsing GAME’s 397 stores. But there is always a but Game also own 253 Gamestation outlets and 51 concessions.
This would be Gamestop’s baggiest step forward in there UK expansion plans.
A source said: “GAME frustrated GameStop when it bought GameStation. Bosses at GameStop had pretty much given up on launching a UK assault – but now, thanks to Woolies, that door is open again. They’re up against other bidders, but they’ll fight tooth and nail.”

Left 4 Dead is a co-operative survival first person shooter, where you and three chums, either real life friends or soon to be undead AI are plunged into that world you always planned ahead with your mates over some beers for some reason, and that is if the world become infested with zombies.You help each other survive and get through the levels and the apparently the difficulty curve depends on ones progression/advancement rate sort of thing, ( no-one knows just accept it like its law, the demo showed us that this blighter gets buggering hard) and what’s completely great is the mode where you can become a monster and again take some chums with you and well… chow down on the AI controlled survivors.
So here is a list to remember when planning to buy Left 4 Dead :
1. Make sure you order or collect your copy of Left 4 Dead.
2. Buy enough supplies for you and your homies and barricade yourself into a place with strong doors.
3. Arm yourself with a cudgel or a blunt instrument and some new underwear (hey, it happens).
4. Say hi to your Mum for me.

Gamestation.co.uk has dropped its delivery chargers on all game, hardware and accessories. Free charges apply to the 1-3 days as standard delivery. The guaranteed next-day service will still have a charge of £4.95 (hey they have to make money somewhere).
HMV is to start taking pre-owned games for store credit but with a slight difference to other stores that do this - you will also be able to buy CDs and DVDs with said store credit.
"Our launch into pre-played games and the acquisition of gamerbase.com underlines HMV’s long term commitment to games as it becomes an ever-increasing part of our overall product mix," said HMV managing director Simon Fox.
HMV will be taking trade-ins across all major platforms. Well this can only really fall flat and fail or this could be quite a good way to keeping the biggest gaming retailer Game in check with its customer base and offer better trade in prices.
