As part of the Xbox live House Party, Toy Soldiers has been released on Xbox Live arcade, and what kind of self respecting boy would I be if i didn’t dip into the toy box and see what was going on! Mortars, machine guns, planes, tanks, you name it, it’s here allowing you to unleash hell on your little moulded enemies on a small plastic scale!
The single player Campaign mode see’s you defending your base (a lovely looking toy box) from waves of infantry, horsemen and a variety of vehicles on land and in the air. The aim is prevent a set number of waves from entering the toy box, but it’s not quite as simple as that.
Dust off your six shooters and saddle up, a hot new western is being lined up to hit Xbox 360 and Playstation 3! It’s being billed as ‘Rockstar’s most ambitious title’ yet and as you can see from the screens below it’s looking very, very tasty.
An open world game featuring several towns and outposts as well as a whole host of authentic characters, this has all the early indicators of being an absolute classic. Period weaponry seems to be feature heavy, from your six shooters and lassos to early machine guns and explosives.
For those of you who don’t know anything about Metro 2033 here is a brief idea of what to expect, Written in basic terms which the average online user would understand.
Metro 2033 = In 3 years time (2013) imagine a big nuke explosion (World gets ‘PWND’), we then go about living underground in a Russian Metro system for a good 20 years, and then a story arises with some awesome named duded called Artyom in the year of 2033!
We got a chance to get hands-on with the game itself and live through the eyes of Artyom for some amount of time. Its preview time!
This time last week we survived a nuclear attack and luckily survived the explosion by getting to the highest point of Centre Point in London, odd I know.
We got our greasy hands on the title and played through a near finish build, we’ll be speaking about that in another preview which should be up sometime tomorrow (Friday).
We got an interview however. We had a chat with Dmitry Glukhovsky and Huw Beynon about the game!
If you haven’t already checked out our video interview, it’s here. – Full ‘Uncut’ XXX version coming soon.
Alan Wake is definitely one of the biggest titles of 2010, as well as this new decade in video game history. Remedy have been developing this ‘Psychological Action Thriller’ for over 5 years now, during that time we’ve got a new Prime Minister, and the US got a new President…ok slightly off topic, I know, but 5 years is still a long wait. We can happily say it’s been a wait worth waiting… and it’s now time to Wake up!
This week we headed to the centre of London to go and check out the highly anticipated title, Alan Wake. We sat down with the game’s head of franchise development Oskari Häkkinen to talk about all the details you need to know about this amazing game.
We also got the thoughts of a few other journo’s while we were there, you know, just to get a bigger perspective about the game’s audience. Everyone was left blown away.
Special thanks to Remedy and a shout out to those featured at the end.

Past few weeks EA’s Reboot of the Medal of Honor series has been seeing some limelight throughout magazine publications, sadly we’ve yet to see this rather anticipated title – come on EA!
PC Action magazine got some coverage of the title and quoted it as:
“After I have seen the game in motion, I nearly like it better than Modern Warfare 2.”
I think that the world “nearly” is a little harsh, that could mean it’s either miles off or so close that it was unbearable to say in front of an audience.
