Sure, we got around the show floor at this year’s Eurogamer and played all the of upcoming releases while letting you know how they were, but what did you guys think to the event?
We got on our feet just to create a short Beatles backed montage to create all your thoughts in one big bubble. Overall, I think you guys loved it.

The Mass Effect 2 audience and atmosphere at Eurogamer 09 was only overshadowed by Mr Ezio from Assasins Creed 2. People were clawing their way through the crowds to get a glimpse of Biowares futuristic sequel. In fact Cartman 3k almost went against his Buddhist beliefs and creamed the impatient twats pushing in front, he is currently seeking help to regain his inner balance but it will take time, and the little brown hair dude that played Mass Effect at 4.35…yeah that’s right we know who you are…..should be ashamed not just for ruining Cartmans 3k karma but for sucking so bad and dying in a preview demo. (Cough Cough Thrungus @ Assassins Creed 2)
Who would win in a fight between Ezio and Sheperd? Despite his unfortunate pizza delivery sounding name and having 14th century weaponry I think the white hooded assassin would take it, Shepard is always getting distracted by the ladies human or alien….we all remember Mass Effect 1, my nephew walked in on a certain scene during that game, poor boy so young….. probably scarred him for life and thinks its normal to hump blue ladies…..but anyway who had the better demo preview? Although it pains me to say it……. Ubisoft’s Assassins Creed 2 won this battle of heavy hitters also. Continue reading ‘XG First Look – Mass Effect 2 Preview’
Thought we would show you a short section of the game which was on show at Eurogamer 09, as already previewed, this game is without a doubt our game of the show!
Ratchet and Clank certainly is a cracking time, the return of Sony’s beloved hero’s are back in their new title Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In Time… Clank is so cute!
On the scene playing the game along side me today and providing an interview is a friend of mine veteran gamer Jay Wheeler who spent his time playing the game in-depth and letting me know some of his views on the game.
So Jay what do you think of Ratchet And Clank Future: A Crack In Time?
Jay Wheeler: Ratchet and Clank starts with a very humorous animated sequence adding to the playfulness of the game. After the brief introduction, You are placed in the shallow end, with an easy to follow tutorial. This is a helpful way to get familiar with the controls. They are not particularly difficult to master, any Playstation user should find it a breeze.
Yet again, returning to the press office at Eurogamer 09 I have found myself in tears of joy! Checking out games that I thought look good, to find out they play amazingly! In this case, Split\Second.
As well as the video footage which we just cam’d (coming up shortly) we all found ourselves thinking the same thing, where and when can we pick up this game and watch the most amazing explosions go off while your driving along!? Where!

Just living a normal day in my regular life going into a convenience store to grab an inhaler, yeah I’m having trouble breathing. All of a sudden a robber points a gun at the convenience store owner. I don’t panic…… I just want my inhaler….Its allergy season. I try reasoning with him and letting him change his mind, no strings attached. He doesn’t listen to much and gets distracted….I just wanted a dam inhaler…. I creep forward taking him to the ground introducing his face to my fisty friends Law and Order. Job done, I go home with the inhaler and eat some doughnuts
That’s exactly what transpires in this mini campaign preview, well except for the agent going home and eating some doughnuts and well its presented better than my words could ever imagine.
The game is set out in a sequence based genre, this means that the whole game is revolved around pushing buttons at specific times producing various stunning cinematic actions portrayed in the game. Heavy Rain is defiantly very unique and there is not many games like it on the market, heck I can’t even say I have played a game like this so I am very intrigued.
After just being on the show floor queuing for 20mins I have returned to post this with my mouth wide open. The game was quite simply, amazing.
Although the code for the game was the same from the TGS this year, it still held the basis of Assassin’s Creed goodness. The game, set in the lovely surroundings of Venice, is astonishing to walk around in. More activities are going on with the pedestrians and with the account of money into the game, it really has added some new features.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been a huge fan of the Battlefield series. Some of my first and most memorable online gaming was performed on Battlefield 2 on the PC. It was the first time I’d been in a clan, and the multiplayer with it’s variety of vehicles and classes and the great camaraderie of being able to talk to the members of your team made it a great gaming experience.
And now comes Battlefield Bad Company 2. I managed to get a few rounds of multiplayer in with Thrungus and JPWB and we were not disappointed. The selection of classes and vehicles was again incredibly varied, from one man quads like the one seen above to a selection of tanks, jeeps and choppers which could accommodate 3 or 4 members of the same team. The fire power and weaponry of the vehicles was best exploited when you had a few of the team in the same vehicle, with the tank having a large turret mounted cannon capable of taking out enemy vehicles and a machine gun mounted on top for a second player to mow down enemy squads.
