Coming to a close of the massive release schedule this year (with only 2 weeks of game releases left!) we are currently looking at this years Award Cabinet. How are we going to fill it?
Think back at the year kids, there are a lot of games that came out and we are glad to say with have 80% of those games under the office roof.
How about looking back at last years winners? Straight from a notepad file…
Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida was at this year’s Tokyo Game Show giving interviews (as you do) and he would not be a Sony executive unless he said something out of the blue. Shuhei Yoshida has came out swinging, saying that he would “really like to see both PS3 and 360 succeed [in Japan]“.
He also likes the new Xbox 360 dashboard saying “I think it’s quite nice. I like the Avatar designs they’re working on”, also adding “The new games coming out on 360 and PS3 help to get consumers more interested in this generation of gaming.”
The Sony studio head also sees a possible future in platform exclusivity, even in the wake of losing exclusivity on killer titles like Final Fantasy XIII in the West and Grand Theft Auto 4 DLC. “We anticipated this shift in third-party publishing economics”, Yoshida explained. “We have invested in our first-party studios so we can produce more exclusive titles.” Instead, he expects to “see more announcements about exclusive downloadable content”.
Sony really needs more exclusive content epically now that they have lost the Tekken franchise as well.
We have got some new details on the brand new Halo 3 achievements witch were supposedly included in the Halo 3 "Mythic" build on show at PAX08. With 30 brand new achievements with a total of a possible gamerscore of 750GS. Hit the link below for a complete list of the achievements
Holy beautiful transitions! This latest Fall update build included never before seen transition effects including nifty fades, smooth sweeps and (our personal favorite) the guide pop up animation. We can’t explain the transition effects, but trust that their addition definitely enhances the overall dashboard experience. Yum!
Dashboard themes will now instantly load a preview when hovered over. And, as an added bonus, the preview loading effect is sexy as hell.
While in a party, each person’s gamer picture is placed on the top right hand side of the dashboard. When alone and party-less, only your gamer picture and gamercard are displayed.
Your overly Wii-like Avatar’s comic-style text balloon displays your gamercard’s motto.
EVERY Xbox 360 game’s Xbox.com information (including game description, features and screenshots) is pulled into the dashboard while browsing the Xbox Live Marketplace.
We have got some more news coming straight from Leipzig apparently EA’s Mirror’s edge will be a timed exclusive for the PS3. Two days ago German tech site Heise.de spoke with SCEE UK’s David Reeves who some what confirmed the rumor.
The PS3 will be continuously supplied with exclusive games: “We are continuously, month after month publish new titles that bring something unique and different target groups. In a month, it is Gran Turismo, in the next SingStar, as well as Third-Party Title as mirrors Edge by Electronic Arts are part of this strategy. “ According to Reeves Mirrors Edge will initially exclusively for the PS3 this year.
Only to be some what denied by DICE the developers of Mirror’s edge.
"That we know so far nothing. But it is possible that there is collusion at the highest level, of which we are still not informed."
This would be a wonderful coup for Sony if true this game looks absolutely fantastic. Expect to hear more on Mirror’s edge exclusivity some time in the near future.
(Update) Okay this was quick rumor to get shot down EA have just released this statement
Mirror’s Edge will be shipping this winter on PS3, XBOX360 and PC. Mirror’s Edge will not be a timed exclusive for PS3.
VidZones was unveiled at Sony Leipzig press conference today the service is totally free and will available to 29 European countries including Great Britain. Vidzones will allow you to stream thousands of music videos straight to your PS3 and your PSP (via remote play) as well as your mobile phone. No release date has been set yet.
Well the Leipzig game show (Europe’s answer to E3) is only round the corner now and one of the big three has already dropped out. According to Videogaming247 Microsoft will not be having any sort of press conference so don’t expect any sort of surprise announcements such as MGS4 making its way over to the 360 just in time for Xmas. Why does it feel that M$ is just not bothering with us Europeans anymore???
