Ok, Xmas has gone and many more people have joined the gaming scene with their purchase of an Xbox 360 or a Playstation 3.
But alot of us are starting to feel like the whole gaming aspect is being abandoned for different things. Almost as if Simon Cowell owns the release schedule and is raking the cash in selling clothes and promoting stuff gamers don’t use but maybe your annoying 12 yr old sister would.
As the big guns look into improving their retro titles and comic books, mainstream games are few and far between. The main focus is avatar clothing, pets and mini cars and magic rainbow smiles covered in love and cuddles. I mean come on, I want to play some games, not fiddle with my newly downloaded baby chocobo.
On the subject of games we are also experiencing a downfall there too. Years ago we would buy a title and spend days, months and years playing, this I consider a full game. Nowadays we all purchase half a game, by half a game I mean a game which I can download the other half as DLC, usually released 2 to 3 weeks after the first half, They should title these games as “Brain Stompers : the Clash of Peanut Butter and Gentailia LITE” with a little side note which says, “may require DLC to extend game to full potential”.
This isn’t such a problem if a “full game” had been out for a while, everyone had played it to death and only then should DLC be considered to revive it.
I’m usually considered a spoil sport by others in the gaming community. But there’s truth to what has been said.
This brain fart I’ve had has only really arised after I saw the CES show and thought in terms of gaming innovation, a small puddle of regurgitated steak ‘n’ kidney pie beats the lot…. Except Project Natal. I’m liking that.

Oh my god. Yes, I’m back from my two-ish week hiatus and thank god – living without a PC is flipping hard.

So what have I been up to? Well, I took a lovely trip to Renaissance in Italy and killed a few people after they killed my father and two brothers. Oh and not to forget killing some horrid darkspwan that invaded my country of Ferelden. In other words, I’ve been playing Assassins Creed 2 and Dragon Age: Origins.

Happy New Year from me Digbert and everybody at TFMX.co.uk.

I recently imported the God of War Collection from across the pond (Movietyme) and have been playing it since it dropped through my letterbox.

They really have worked hard on upscaling the resolution of the 2 original games to a nice and steady 60FPS at 1080p.

This get’s 2 thumbs up from me!

Sure, we got around the show floor at this year’s Eurogamer and played all the of upcoming releases while letting you know how they were, but what did you guys think to the event?

We got on our feet just to create a short Beatles backed montage to create all your thoughts in one big bubble. Overall, I think you guys loved it.

Eric Cartman - eric-cartman photo

Hello Folks!! First of all I’d like to say a quick thank you to Thrungus for bringing me on board and allowing me to get involved with TFMX, it’s been a great experience so far and Eurogamer 09 is topping it off nicely!

Having been here for the best part of 5 hours now I’ve had the opportunity to try my hand at several new titles (Left 4 Dead 2, Borderlands, Saw, Heavy Rain, Avatar) and have got a good feeling for several of these games. Borderlands in particular was my cup of tea, with a great and unique graphical style, cool weapons and a nice RPG levelling up system.

Heavy Rain also caught my attention as it has to be one of the most visually stunning games I’ve come across. I’ll no doubt be having a cheeky second go tomorrow so will give an in depth preview then. Best dash now, these games won’t play and preview themselves!!

With the new Xbox Live update rolling out soon, it leaves you to wonder if someone back at the Xbox Gamer Care Department is drifting away from the reality of Gaming and just making features to please someone else. We all bought our favourite gaming consoles for the main purpose….Gaming.
Even though many will be grateful for the new features being implemented onto Xbox Live the table of gaming sweets is still out of stock.

With people developing for socialites the gamer is being left out, with very little being released for Games on Demand and lots being done for things unrelated to games, it has angered some and let others down.

Ok it’s great to have an Avatar system but how well does that improve our gaming experience, you can argue it gives you a visual personality but how much of this do you notice when you running around on a battle field trying to feed people bullets with your metal dispensing machinegun.

Also having Twitter and Facebook available to you. Ok it connects you to your friends and the world but it’s basically a platform to show people you achieved things in a game like pushing 60 agravated grannies over while singing the Batman theme. Woohoo 10g to show my friends… Not really a needle bender on your Gaming Experince meter.

But hopefully this trend is  going to pull out some innovate gaming ideas and experiences and maybe just maybe make your gaming console into….. well a gaming console.

Encase you haven’t checkout out the First look video – do so now

While people wait for November 17th, we are already rolling in the ‘glory’ of the Xbox Update. Glory? Well, here’re my 2 cents on the case of the Xbox360 update.

The Update brings a new Community section to the dashboard in regards to Facebook and Twitter, because this is clearly what everyone has been asking after, right? Well not really, It wasn’t what us editors wanted to see for the Fall update this year, I’ve got Facebook and Twitter on my phone, So I can already get to it.

It would seem that Xbox have really wanted to make the couch of every living room the centre of your online communications, Skype next?

bruce-willis1

You remember that god awful game which everyone was waiting to play? – Kane and Lynch: Dead Men (I think that’s what it was called, check with Jeff Gerstmann if I’m wrong).

Well many may know that there were plans to make it into a movie, which would be great right? Well this movie will be headlined by the one and only Bruce Willis! Any more tempting not to go and see it?

Well he said this about the script of the movie:

“After Bruce Willis read it, he called it one of the best action scripts he’s ever read, and Bruce is an expert in terms of action scripts because he’s read everything over the last 20 years.”

oh god help us all.
