Just thought I would leave you gays and gals with little shock.

Today Sony have announced a price cut for the PS2 (Not the PS3 Thrungus put your wallet down) the console has been reduced so far in the United states only to $99 starting April 1st 2009.

"PlayStation 2 set the industry standard for worldwide mass market adoption and is a clear embodiment of Sony’s commitment to platforms that deliver 10-year product lifecycles. It’s a tribute to outstanding technology, great consumer value and unprecedented development support that we’ve now been able to do twice what no one else has ever accomplished," said Sony exec Jack Tretton. "Demand for PlayStation 2 remains strong throughout the world, and the new $99 price point will bring in new consumers who will discover how PlayStation platforms are an outstanding choice for their gaming and home entertainment needs”.

No word yet if this is a world wide price cut.

Okay just a quick shout out to Sony wrong console to cut the price on in fact why not cut the price on both around the world. But on the other hand is this a cheeky move to compete with the Wii.

Since Left 4 Dead was released I don’t think a week has gone passed when we didn’t hear a single thing about some form of Zombie hoard if it be Dead rising 2 or Resi 5 it like Capcom are trying to say we have Zombies in our games as well you know.

Speaking at this years GDC Izmeth Siddeek, from developers Blue Castle Games has claimed that Dead rising 2 will have the largest amount on screen characters ever seen in any video game.

"Dead Rising 2′ deals with the rendering of the greatest number of characters ever seen in a video game. Everything else needed to be subordinated to this requirement".

He also added this little titbit.

"preparing to have as many as 6000 characters on the screen".

OMG 6000 of the undead walking around trying eat your BRAINS. Wii version will have more than 5 Zombies on screen at once (Okay I lied about the Wii version I don’t even know if there will be one yet)

Ea may have learned a little lesson from Spore, do any of you guys rember what happened with Spore the endless forum post about “OMG the DRM is killing my PC”. Ea will not be enforcing DRM such as SecuROM on the The Sims 3 instead they are going with the old fashion CD-KEY for there latest suicide game actually I still have no Idea what The Sims actually is so er yeah The Sims.

The game will have disc-based copy protection – there is a Serial Code just like The Sims 2. To play the game there will not be any online authentication needed. We feel like this is a good, time-proven solution that makes it easy for you to play the game without DRM methods that feel overly invasive or leave you concerned about authorization server access in the distant future.

Well we all kind of knew it was coming we all knew that the guys over at Infinity Ward had this trailer up there sleeves and were just waiting for GDC to kick off this week. In the trailer the first thing you will notice is the lack of game play that not something to scoff at as this is only a teaser trailer and a awesome teaser it is. One of the other little things you will notice is that a release date has already been set and the game is set to hit retail in the 10TH November 2009 no word yet if this is a global releases date.

One quick question to consider. How will this title fair with the likes of both Operation flashpoint dragon rising and Arma 2 both modern warfare type games but what I think both games offer players a much more authentic military experience?

According to Shacknews Bethesda have fixed the Fallout 3 DLC and it will you will be able to download today (Unless something else goes wrong)

“Finishing some tests but if all checks out we should have The Pitt back up and available by tomorrow afternoon,” Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines told Shacnews.

Some other good news the PC version of the DLC is unaffected floating exclamation points for them.

(UPDATE) The Pitt is now available via the Xbox live marketplace.

Someone has only went and done it again didn’t they.

Fallout 3’s DLC has hit the Xbox marketplace today. Now I know many of you will be overjoyed to hear this but and there is always a but with Microsoft isn’t there now. There has been a massive screw up on someone’s part ether it was Microsoft or it was Bethesda but the DLC is not quite up to standard as you could properly tell from the picture above.

“We are continuing to look into the issues people are experiencing with The Pitt for Xbox 360. As of now it looks like the file for the English version on Xbox Live was somehow corrupted. We are currently working with Microsoft to remove the existing file off of Live to prevent any further downloads. Our plan is to replace it with a new file as soon as possible. We hope to have another update for you shortly”.

That was Bethesda’s Pete Hines, who indicated that they had isolated the problem and were working quickly to resolve it.
